A. It varies, and is primarily dependent on the amount of products you require to be set-up and built into your shopping cart. The more products you require, the more it will cost bacause it is time consuming to build up a product shopping cart. That's why we have detailed all our prices (this is also your online quote) with options in the Get Carver Online Shop. Just choose your preferred solution and add on any options that you require. Everything we do is detailed in the individual product pages. Our solutions should suit almost any local retailer requirements and if it's not there then we don't do it.
Q. What does SEO stand for?
A. Search Engine Optimisation. Websites have to be optimised to allow the Search Engines to read, spider and index. Q. Do you do websites for large, multi-national companies?
A. No, see above.
Q. Do we have to have a face-to-face meeting?
A. It's not essential. In this day and age we can conduct business over the phone, via email or by post, as well as online in terms of ordering.
Q. I've heard that websites with CMS (Content Managed System) are unreadable by Search Engines, is this true?
A. Untrue, all our websites are designed to be Search Engine friendly. If you take advantage of our SEO service when ordering a website then we will optimise your site for the Search Engines based on your keywords and then submit your site. There is a seperate set-up fee and a small monthly fee for non-website clients but remember: your website is the tool, SEO & submission gets it found by new prospects, actively looking for your product or service.

Q. How many pages do I need?
A. It's up to you really. We do recommend that ALL our clients have at least 7 Content pages e.g. Home, About, Contact, Products & Services, Privacy, Terms, FAQ's. Carver can take up to 30 content pages, expandable via the built-in CMS (unlimited content pages with the appropriate additional web space). All our Carver Internet Store packages include for 10 content pages but our Carver Internet Storefront packages are priced depending on the amount of content pages that are required.
Q. How long will it take to complete my website?
A. About 4-5 working weeks, depending on your exact requirements. This timescale can vary but it is usually due to us not receiving the site text and / or digital photos from the client in time. If we get the text and photos within 2 weeks, then the site will be complete and ready to go live within 4 working weeks.
Q. What, in your opinion, makes a good, workable website?
A. Take a look at this page here but generally your site should be professional looking, clean design, easy and fluent navigation for the user. Your website should be a natural progression for the potential client, leading them step-by-step through your site to purchase. Your site text should not be about you as such but about what problems your product or service solves for your target market. It should continually identify and display benefit, benefits and more benefits. It should be able to be updated quickly and easily as your business changes and develops...all included with Carver Internet Stores.
Q. Do you do flash content and would having flash content mean that my website would take forever to load?
A. We don't do full Flash websites as a rule. Our Flash content is generally in the form of a Flash themed logo and Flash navigation buttons (both optional), as well as our Flash Ads. Occassionally we will do a Flash Photo Gallery page for a client. All our Flash content is fast-loading, simple, non-intrusive and classy. We can, however, project manage a full Flash website for you via our overseas partners and still deliver within time, and on budget. Contact Us with your specific requirements and we will send you a proposal with budget pricing.
Q. Can we visit you at your offices?
A. Yes you can. You are welcome to visit. You can also visit Britnett Web Services at their Head Office in Barnard Castle at anytime, just contact us to arrange an appointment time.
Q. Do you just supply a manual as part of the training on how to keep my new website updated?
A. You will be given written instructions and on-site training (if possible) on the CMS as part of our Service Pack. This is for up to 3 delegates and additional training can be arranged at anytime at no extra charge. I will shortly be putting a page on my site which will give instructions on some of the most commonly asked questions about how to do edits on the Carver system. Remember though, you don't have to do any site edits if you don't want to as we will them for you at no additional cost (this service alone makes us unique! Try getting any other web services agency to do this for you for free). Just email us with the changes, edits to text & images etc. and we will do this for you.
Q. How do I know how many people are visiting my site?
A. There is a section within your own CMS Control Panel that has full details about your site visitors. You can also generate reports within this section to analyse your site visitors statistics. You will be shown this area at training.
Q. Is your e-mail address capture form single opt-in?
A. It is double opt-in. When anyone subscribes to your mailing list or newsletter via the standard email address capture box, they are automatically sent an email asking them to confirm their subscription by clicking on a link. Once this has happened then their email address is added to the relevant section within your CMS control panel.
Q. If you include a domain name with your website packages, who owns the Domain Name?
A. You own full rights to the Domain Name. When we register the Domain Name on your behalf, it is registered in your or your company name. I use my email address only to receive the password details to allow me to manage the domain name for you. You will receive, in due course, a registration certificate for the chosen domain name from Nominet.
Q. Can I host the site with another hosting company?
A. Yes you can but we don't recommend it. Carver is a feature-rich program and, as such, we prefer to have all the sites hosted by us to ensure that all site features work properly. It's not a case of trying to tie you to us for hosting and this is the reason we have our unique Service Pack. This is far more than just hosting as it also includes automatic site maintenance, training, site updates and edits by us and ongoing support and marketing advice, all for a small annual fee of £150.00. This Service & Hosting pack is included with all web design & build orders for the first 12 months. If you decide to host your new Carver site elswhere, we cannot guarantee the features will work properly and obviously support on the site is then limited. Q. Do I have to pay by credit or debit card?
A. No, when you have selected your particular solution, then you can opt to confirm your order and pay by cheque or money order during the checkout process. We will automatically get a copy of this method of ordering via email. You can then send in the cheque or money order.

A. You do.
